Net Visionary Awards

November 16th, 2007

I knew three people who were going to the awards last night.

Well, I had met one and corresponded with the other two.  And guess what?  They all won!!

I’m delighted that Denise Cox won as Best Blogger, because she is a business blogger, and that’s what the awards are all about.  And she is a very nice person too [but I don't know if that comes into the judging].

Alan Stapleton won too.  I met him the other night at the get-together.  He is completely insane but is an inspiration when it comes to business.  I would have given him an award anyway for the number of smilies he uses when he comments on this site.

And of course the Grand Master himself – Damien Mulley.  That fellow just doesn’t get the recognition he deserves, but last night went some way towards rectifying that [I'm smarming here because he runs the Irish Blog Awards!!]. And I’m glad get didn’t shell out on the suit in vain.

If I had been on the judging panel, that’s the way I would have voted.  So I’m delighted.

And congratulations to everyone else too, even though I don’t know who you are.

But the moral of the story is….

If you want to be an award winner, you have to know Grandad.

Frankly, I’m happy the way it is. I always felt a bit uncomfortable in there as it is a business related thing, and businesses should win.

Being shortlisted is enough for me :)

“If you want to be an award winner, you have to know Grandad”.

And more importantly – if you want to have fun, you have to know Grandad.

    Congratulations, Grandad – you’re a real winner!

I like your new editing panel 8-) ;-)

Being read by people like yourself is more than enough for me! Can’t do smiley face!!

The reason I blog is because I enjoy it. I get a laugh out of it. If others do too, then all the better.

Awards are nice, but they are not the be all and end all. It would be different if I were a business doing web design or something.

Glad you like the editing thingy, Steph. I don’t know why it isn’t a standard part of the package.

    And B3n – Simple smiley = : followed by ) or (
Or you can go down the path of : followed by lol followed by :
