Global what?
Grandad July 10th, 2008
As you all may have gathered by now, I am utterly pissed off with all this Climate Change crap.
It used to be Global Warming, but I gather they can’t make up their minds which way the trend is going, so they have renamed it.
The latest is that they are going to introduce carbon levies on flights.
I would have no problem with that but for one thing - where does this money go? It has to go somewhere. It will end up in government pockets somewhere. And there is the rub.
In case you aren’t aware of the fact - Climate Change is Big Business. There are billions to be made out of it provided we believe in the con, and are prepared to pay. All they have to do is introduce a levy or tax; call it a ‘carbon tax’ and there you go.
Not only governments, but big and small corporations around the world have discovered that there is a fortune to be made out of ‘Climate Change’. Their only fear is that bluff will be called, and people will no longer believe the Big Lie.
One of the great arguments that is thrown at us is to look at all the extreme weather we have been having in the last few years.
Bollox.
I remember extremes in the past, but we were too sensible to do anything more than mutter about it and get on with our lives.
I remember the time when Poulaphouca Reservoir froze completely over, all 5000 acres of it. That was in 1962. We have never had an extreme like that since.
I remember blazing hot summers where there was little rain.
Most of all, I remember the Great Cheddar Flood when the south of England was devastated by flooding. That was on the 10th of July, 1968,
40 years ago, on this day.
