Update
Grandad September 13th, 2008
I scribbled a wee scribble a few days ago about my quest for an Interweb connection which sparked a few comments.
This surprised me because I assumed you all would have moved on to better things and would have forgotten about poor ol’ Grandad.
There were quite a few comments, so rather than answer them all, I will give a wee progress report.
McDonalds. - Yes. They do have McDonalds in France. They are very easy to find because they are all surrounded by barbed-wire fences, searchlights and vicious looking Alsations. The French take pride in their food, and while they have no problem with free trade, they object to their population being turned into fat arsed waddling obese mobile heart attacks. They therefore take every precaution to prevent people entering. Sensible, I call it.
Internet - I wasn’t in the least pushed about finding an Interweb connection until I remembered that my publishers may be trying to contact me [*cough*]. They were, so I’m glad I found one. I couldn’t get near McDonalds [see above] so tried a healthy shop that I happened to be having coffee in anyway. It didn’t work, and I had to use their own PCs. If any of you have ever used a French keyboard, you’ll know what a fucking nightmare that was! I eventually found an Internet Cafe [Ian - they charged €2 an hour plus free coffee] which was enough for me to download all my spam.
Weather - A few of you mentioned the weather.
It rained.
Heavily.
For a few hours.
Apart from that - hot hot hot sunshine.
Mwaaa hahahahahahahahahaha.
Mwaaa hahahahahahahahahaha.
Mwaaa hahahahahahahahahaha.
Mwaaa hahahahahahahahahaha.
I’m typing this indoors as the damned laptop gets too hot outside.
I’m off now as it is too fucking hot in here.
HA!
