Solving our problems

May 26th, 2009

There are several immutable facts about Irish life.

Fianna Fail are a corrupt shower of bastards and anyone who votes for them should be shot; Dana is a pain in the hole and the weather is always great during the Leaving Certificate exams.

I have a simple suggestion to make.

We will just have to suffer Fianna Fail and Dana [along with Chris de Burgh and Daniel O’Donnell] for the time being, but there is something we can do about the weather.

I propose that the Leaving Certificate exams be extended by a few days.

Instead of them lasting for just a couple of weeks, why don’t we extend them so they start at the beginning of May and carry on until the end of September?  Or even October?

This would have several advantages.

Apart from the weather being great all Summer, it would go a long way towards solving some of Ireland’s traffic problems, as we all know that traffic is much lighter at exam times.

Also it would keep all those teenage kids off the streets, so they wouldn’t be cluttering up the place.

It might even improve the standard of education a bit.

I really think it is worth considering.

It would be worth it for five or six guaranteed months of sunshine?

Wouldn’t you agree?
