Preparing for the Dildo

December 6th, 2011

Yesterday we had Budget 2011 V1.0 [codename Scrooge].

Later today we will have Budget 2011 V2.0 [codename Dildo].

One of the worst kept secrets was confirmed yesterday – the Property Tax.

This is a tax to be levied on all properties in the Republic.  I must say it is a very fair and equitable tax as I will illustrate -

house1
The owners of this property will have to pay a mere €100.

house2
The owners of this property will have to pay a massive €100.

I confess I am a little disappointed in the property tax.  I was hoping for a much larger amount.

You see, I have absolutely zero intention of paying the fucking thing so I will save a hundred yoyos a year.  On the other hand if the tax were a lot larger, I would correspondingly save a hell of a lot more.

Bastards.

Time now to prepare myself with vast quantities of KY Jelly and Prozac.

Nearly time for Round Two.

The definition of “fair” is to treat the same. Do you want someone who has inherited more than you to pay a higher tax?

Our Government did say that they expect revenues from the Household Charge (Prpoerty tax) to increase in year 2 & subsequent years, meaning they intend to substantially raise it once they get it established. So cheer up Grandad, your savings will therefore also increase.

What annoyed me most about this was the leftie bum that called to my door handing out literature re not paying the bloody thing, he stated they should tax the rich instead of this & for that matter all the other taxes or cuts the Government planned to introduce. The slight flaw I found in his reasoning is, if this property tax is not paid they will just raise income tax next year to cover the shortfall, this didn’t seem to bother the crustie as he doesn’t work & therefore doesn’t pay or for that matter has never paid tax.

He asked if they could rely on my support, I had some of the staff run him off.

€100? ….. wonder what that will be in Merkelmarks?

  4. Grandad IRELANDon 06 Dec 2011 at 2:58 pm

Ramrod – Fair in my book means that people should be charged according to their means.  is it fair that someone living in a shed with a corrugated iron roof should be asked to pay the same as someone living in a multi-million property?

Lafsword – That is the single thing that pisses me off about the Property Tax.  If it were left at 100 it would be tolerable but it will rapidly climb each year until it’s in the thousands.  I’m going to forward all my demands onto the Deutsche Bank anyway, as they are the ones ultimately benefiting from it,

Not Green – Too fucking much.

Here in Pennsylvania if you own a house you pay property tax to the county, the school district and the local municipality.  So if you own a house valued at 140,000 dollars you pay about $1400 to the county, $800 to the school district and $200 to the township or city.  If you don’t pay it the county can and will seize your property and sell it for whatever is due on it.  So you never really own your property here you must continually pay rent to the county and school district and township.

That 1st ones house is from Leitrim, so they’ll have no comm-ent on the 100

    Grandad:

Your book isn’t the same as mine. My book was written by FUNK & WAGNALLS.

Nice fucking Pad GD. How’d ya keep that from Nama, CAB or the Taxman?
The Holiday home is a bit small though, although your French Holiday home was a bit of a kip too, which I hope you got rid of, ‘cos you’ll be slapped with a €50 registration charge for the septic tank also.

Brianf – A lot is made of this “bringing us into line with other countries” but if that’s the case why are we paying the highest cigarette prices in Europe or nearly $2 for a liter of petrol?  Different countries – different situations.

Ronkonkomacavan – Heh!  How do you know it’s in Leitrim?  Were you thinking of buying it?

Ramrod – It’s a choice between semantics or morality.

Slab – I hate to disappoint you but neither is The Manor.  I couldn’t photograph that as the weeds out the front are too high.  As for their septic tank thing – they can go shite.

  11. Slab IRELANDon 06 Dec 2011 at 3:55 pm

‘the weeds out the front are too high’. I suppose thats one way of hiding the Manor. Just like the lad in England who build his Castle behind Bales of Straw. Nice one GD.
Septic tank…..they really are taking the piss.

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_dlkAw43cLC0/SW3HMa_lITI/AAAAAAAACvI/IwK7nPO69h4/s800/Sheep-building.jpg You should build a house like this one GD. In Wicklow, nobody would notice and they could’nt charge the house tax. You might need to get it inspected by the Vet every now and then.
It might even qualify for the EU headage payments the farmers get and if you put it on a turntable you could do your very own ewe turns.

I’m going now, work to do….

“Time now to prepare myself with vast quantities of KY Jelly and Prozac.”        You’re going to need both when you’re in Mountjoy? for not paying your dues.

  14. RAMROD UNITED STATESon 06 Dec 2011 at 7:51 pm

    Grandad:

I am glad that your choice is morality. Did you learn that “people should be charged according to their means” in Catholic school?

The essence of language is conformity of word meaning. Semantics deals with the changing meaning of words. The novel “1984″ gives examples of that.

  15. Grandad IRELANDon 07 Dec 2011 at 2:52 am

Slab – The only people who would build a house like that are the Merkans.  Daft buggers.

TT – By all accounts, half the country is going to be in the Joy.  I doubt there would be any room for shenanigans.

Ramrod – Will you ever stop trying to annoy me.  You are nearly succeeding.

The EU wont allow non payments I’m sure like in Greece they will add it to the electric bill but refusal is the answer if you can.  Van Rumpuy is now saying countries like Greece Italy and Ireland should not be allowed any voting rights within the EU.

Ramrod: He wrote more than the two books. 1984 & Animal Farm. You should check out another of his. They would open your eyes. Try ‘The Road to Wigan Pier’ or ‘Down and Out in London and Paris.’ Or is it Paris and London. Anyway it isn’t Beverly Hills.

What does this remind me of? Oh aye – that very successful poll tax in the UK that led to the bother in Trafalgar Square and Maggie’s departure.

  20. Grandad IRELANDon 12 Dec 2011 at 12:44 am

Maybe it’s time we had a wee bit of bother in Merrion Square?
